MOBOTIX D22 Dome Camera Series Provides 12 Times Higher Resolution Quality Than Standard Video Surveillance

New York, NY (PRWeb) March 29, 2007 -- MOBOTIX, provider of advanced IP based video solutions, today unveiled the new D22 camera series, a line of very compact, attractively-priced dome cameras with up to 960 lines resolution, integrated video management software and long-term storage management. At 1280 x 960 pixels, the resolution of the recorded image is approximately 12 times higher than in the conventional CIF format still used in 95% of all surveillance systems today. High resolution is crucial in a security conscious age when suspects must be quickly and reliably identified.

The D22-Basic was designed specifically for use in indoor areas. The camera includes a 90-degree wide-angle lens, is powered using Power-over-Ethernet (PoE) and priced attractively.

"We are pleased to introduce the D22 camera series to the US market," said Wolfgang Ritter, Director of US Sales. "In an age when Homeland Security concerns are paramount, the D22 is an ideal fit, addressing resolution, intelligence, and storage needs. At the same time, those with more basic needs will also find an affordable, high performance solution."

Weather Protection And Professional Control Center Software Included
The weatherproof D22-IT and D22-Secure models are equipped with additional software functions and due to their fiberglass-reinforced housing and the 1.5 mm polycarbonate dome, they are also approved for outdoor use, year-round PoE power supply, according to Ingress Protection (IP) rating 65. IP ratings were developed by the European Committee for Electro Technical Standardization and specify the environmental protection an enclosure provides.

As with all MOBOTIX camera models the D22 includes the integrated Mx Control Center video management software, a professional license free control center software for an unlimited number of users and cameras. The exclusive Mx Control Center software enables simultaneous live viewing and recording of over 30 cameras at up to 30 frames per second in a high resolution (VGA), with audio, on a single PC as well as event-controlled recording and an extensive range of alarm management functions including VoIP telephony.

Optional Vandalism Kit For Critical Locations
In locations with a high risk of being vandalized, the robust IT and Secure models can be given extra protection with the optional vandalism kit that includes a 3-mm polycarbonate dome and an additional stainless steel cover. Available in a polished, matt or powder finish in RAL colors, the stainless steel ring can be integrated into any design. There are two additional installation kits for surface mounting and for installation in suspended ceilings.
