Joanie Spina spent more than 11 years overseeing major theatrical productions such as David Copperfield's CBS Specials, his Broadway show and she currently works with Magic Underground in Reno. She has turned her attention to making documentary films, forming Roxie video Productions of Las Vegas.

Joanie Spina lives in Las Vegas with her menagerie of three dogs, three tame cats and a colony of adult ferals. She named her production company, Roxie Video Productions, after her dog Roxie, a small golden terrier mix that was a rescue. Roxie was found by Animal Control on a Las Vegas street, with one eye hanging out of the socket and was brought to the Lied Animal Shelter where she was given excellent medical care and rehabilitation. Roxie was lucky enough to find a home with Joanie where she flourishes.
